Musicians from places of worship in Hounslow will be taking part in an exciting and unusual concert on Saturday 21 November. The groups, from St Michael and St Martin's Church, the Laxmi Narayan Hindu Temple in Neville Close and the Sikh Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Alice Way are presenting music as heard in worship in 'Music from the Faiths'. Other contributions will include Anglican and Russian Orthodox Church Choirs, Jewish music, plus the Muslim call to prayer and Quaker silence.

A cut-price gym in Hounslow West has closed suddenly, despite many members having paid for up to two years' membership in advance.

Armed robber escapes hospital

Waterman.jpgMental health chiefs have promised to carry out a full investigation after a convicted armed robber escaped from a secure unit in Southall.

Ashley Waterman, 20, who is serving five years for armed robbery, had been incarcerated at Feltham Young Offenders' Institution but was transferred due to mental health issues.

Heston residents are being urged to look out for the symptoms of a heart attack as part of a campaign launched recently.

The area is among the top 13 'at risk' London boroughs for the killer disease according to the British Heart Foundation, but many residents have no idea about the warning signs.
