Easter fun on Brabazon Estate

Nearly 500 revellers soaked up the sun during a street party at Heston's Brabazon Estate on Easter Monday.

Huge crowds gathered on the green, where they enjoyed fairground rides, a dog show and a fancy dress competition, among other activities.

The event was the first to be organised by the newly formed Brabazon Estate Tenants & Residents Association (BETRA). It raised £600 to help kit out the new community centre planned for the doctor's surgery.

BETRA chairwoman Sandra Middleton, who organised the party, described it as a huge success.
"The weather was glorious and everyone seemed to have a good time," she said.

"The competitions were very popular and I had lots of children coming up to me saying 'my daddy's entering the sack race'."

Mrs Middleton is already planning BETRA's next bash, a multicultural event with food and performances from across the globe, which will take place on the green on August 15.
