Plans for 225 homes and 13 industrial units at the old Lascar Works site in Staines Road, Hounslow, were also approved.

Heston residents are being urged to look out for the symptoms of a heart attack as part of a campaign launched recently.

The area is among the top 13 'at risk' London boroughs for the killer disease according to the British Heart Foundation, but many residents have no idea about the warning signs.

The group runs an adoption centre at the Pets at Home store in London Road, Brentford, every weekend from 11am - 3.45pm.

A shortfall in school governors has sparked a recruitment drive by the council.

There are currently 1126 governor posts in the borough's schools, and 119 (10.6 per cent) are currently vacant.
